DAY 4 - July 12 2018
Here is a little update of the crew aboard :
"Hi everyone, I won’t write much: the chart table isn’t exactly flat! We are stocked and going fast, and we are getting into our routine: 1- sleep as much as possible 2- eat as well as possible 3- study the weather thoroughly and plan route accordingly… and back to 1. Today we ate real meals: veal stew for lunch and oranges. Matthieu was in the galley. Still not feeling like opening a bottle of Margaux, but getting there. We are heading full West right now, and we’ll need to avoid a “bubble” coming up ahead but like they say in Britany “When you don’t know where to go, head West”. Girafon found her routine as well: her 1st time on the open ocean, tacking large. That boat is surprisingly stable and stunningly easy to get to speed. Let’s just say we are starting to understand each other… the foils, their angle of attack if you will… you slow-down quickly, or you speed-up as quickly. Taking lots of notes. We found a better way to use our fatboy bed by trying to remain on watch longer to promote better rest when the time comes. The autopilot is performing well and Girafon is responding as expected. On deck, it feels like the Volvo Ocean Race with those huge waves hitting the deck hard. That’s it for today. Charles."
Remember the Girafon team is Sailing for ALS.
